Jonny

The day before meeting Jonny, I went to (I’m not saying the name, this is my lowkey beach spot srry) to read poetry and watch the water. I first seen Jonny making some food out of his van and obviously, just like everyone else that passed by, I stared for a second (in awe of course). Feeling compelled to go talk to him was an understatement but, I didn’t. I didn’t say anything to him, in fact we were within 10 feet of each other and I didn’t even look his way. There are countless of reasons why 90% of people that pass a van that looks lived in take a peak in mine was i’m just nosey and find people living outside of the norm very interesting. The Intercoastal project had been on my mind as I’d been working on it everyday for 3 weeks straight, so I also thought about how the main thing is to talk to everyone who represents what you’re trying to portray.
We finally talked probably about 3 hours later (i take my time at the beach), i was getting ready to leave and he was walking in my direction. After a pep talk told myself “just say hello at least”. So i did, and he said, he’d been meaning to compliment my hair. After some conversation, I told him about my project and how I was really interested in documenting an interview with him to literally just show a real human being. He agreed.
I could feel his energy from a mile away.
